In my views, both are same. As public speaking is speaking in a public whether it is on school stage or at a seminar. The fear of speaking in front of public is same in every year of your age.

Public speaking is powerful. It helps you influence, persuade and sell yourself or your business to others.
Just like you can train your body to complete certain physical feats,
you can train your mind to become more confident.

Enough practice will help you develop your self-confidence,then you
will begin to realize that you DO have what it takes
to express yourself and create a life you love.

In your views, what is the difference between public speaking at school stage and public speaking at seminars?

Very similar in both cases.

I think there’s no difference between the two situations but you need to do audience analysis. You should learn some basic things about them- what keeps them awake at night, what are the interests of those listening, their attitudes and beliefs. It is important on how to become an effective public speaker. Identifying the audience is often difficult so you need a broad imagination.

There are elements that are the same and elements that are different.

Common elements include:
The need to engage the audience throughout the audience
Have a impactful introduction and memorable conclusion
Be able to convey a clear message that is easy to digest

Differences include
You may be talking to a different audience and therefore content will have to be tailored to it
When you speak at seminars you may not know the audience and therefore will have to properly introduce yourself
At school, the majority of speaking is done with the audience having to be there due to it being compulsory. Most seminars, people choose to come.

[url][/url]I think the biggest difference between public speaking at school and in the corporate world, is that when at school what you do is to present some content to your classmates. A poesy, an investigation work, a thesis etc... you are not trying to convince anyone, your teacher only ask you to present what you have done.

In the corporate world, if you do a presentation, is to move an audience, to convince them that your point of view is right.

Presentations are not only to inform but to convince people to follow you, accept your decisions or be part of your strategy.

And for this you need to understand more how our brain works, and how to convince methodologically.

In my view, public speaking is an essential life skill.
