Not ment to be?

Postby Gary442 » Mon Apr 13, 2020 8:47 pm

Would it be weird to date my exes brothers wife if she is now single? She has two young kids. I was with my ex for 5 years, so I knew the kids quite well. We get along great both are single but she has the kids on a week on week off basis.

Have you talked about dating with her? Why does it matter if it is weird?

Or, from a broader perspective, get rid of the idea that anything in life is "ment" or "not ment" to be.

You fancy your ex-partner's brother's wife, who is currently single. You like (? you didn't say) her "kids" and presumably are financially capable of and not averse to raising them.

Seriously, drop the notion of "ment" or "not ment" to be and tell her how you feel, then you'll immediately know which way the wind blows.

I hope you're not a one-post wonder and will let us know how this pans out. If you'd like clarification of your current feelings you can't go past Richard Dawkins's book The Selfish Gene to show you what's really going on.

I'm sure Gary442 is off doing what he's "ment" to do.
