My first steps on the road to beating my eating disorder

Postby liza_angel » Sat Jan 14, 2012 1:30 pm

Hello,

I have had eating issues for as long as i can remember, from hiding food, sneaking food, yoyo dieting, with everyone else wondering why it's not coming off, when i know it's the things they don't see that's the problem.

I am only now facing the fact that i have problems, i have known i wasn't looking at food in the right way for some time, but am only now looking to seek help.

I have been ok'd for a counsellor by my GP but need to see if there are other people out there who see the world as i do??

Thanks for reading

x :?

I can sympathize Liza finding myself 8 lb overweight this morning

But 15 years ago I was 40 lb over. About the only practical approach is to go to bed hungry

Sorry

The sad thing is i lost 7stone two years ago, but with the excuse of pregnancy and after a knee opp i allowed my old ways to creep back in, i look back at pics and realise what i gave up.

I have not gained all that weight back on, but a load of it,

i am back on a diet now, and will be getting the counselling soon, but have no self belief even though i did it before, i still don't think i am strong enough to fight that hard again.

I had to look up “stone"

But hang in there. It’s a natural tendency to assume the worst

Eating disorder is very common problem. many people are suffering with eating disorder. But many people are try to hide this problem. but I will suggest to to take the early treatment because it is easy to treat in early stages. There are number of treatments are available for eating disorder but it is better to take the advice from doctor about which is the perfect treatment on your eating disorder problem.

My advice for eating disorders is not look at them as psychological issues but biochemical issues. So looking at zinc levels, magnesium levels, copper levels, estrogen levels, thyroid levels, inidcators of insulin resistance, inflammatroy bowel disorders etc (can suppres hunger hormones). And when I say looking at it I'd recommend with a specialist Dr not your health service quack.

111 I think the psyche figures in to a larger extent than you might suppose, eg

The psychology is governed and to some extent dictated by your biochemistry. It seems to be psychological but how do we no if the psychologicla issue is not driven by a biochemical problem. Considering neurotransmitters and hormones affect your thought patterns, and both need a healthy body to keep both in check - if something goes wrong in the body it manifests as psychological issues such as phobias depression fear anger eating disorders etc. Just because it seems to be psychologicla and in a sense is, does not mean the body isn't playing a role affect your psychology. They go hand in hand. And prolonged psychological issue could be traced back to a sick body.

Indeed 111. And even a prescription med can be at blame
