No motivation TT-TT

Postby Bunny00000 » Sun Mar 09, 2014 12:08 pm

Okay ever since i was a kid ive been told im pretty smart so it stuck to me until now. My grades are average and i dont put effort unless its really important like quarter tests but even then i dont put a lot of effort. Its true im lazy and i have no motivation. I try new things and when im already good at it i get bored of it. Except for a few things like my favorite games im competitive there but everything else im fine with just passing. I dont see the purpose of getting higher grades than other people and im fine with having average grades. Now my problem is people keep on telling me i have no motivation and my parents said theyd cut off all of my privileges if i keep on being like this. Its just that no matter how hard i try i cant finish things i get bored of it half way. I need help i want to change myself a little bit

Make rules for yourself before your parents make the rules for you, e.g. loss of privileges. In the future it will not be parents, but a boss and/or society. You will have a much happier life establishing and following rules you set for yourself than being subject to the rules of others.

An example is do not allow yourself to play your favorite video games until you complete homework. Make it your rule, you are in control.

It's so important to find your true passion in life, your calling, your purpose. Then all feelings of motivation are inconsequential, you wake up every day enthusiastic to move forward on your chosen path, to increase your knowledge, your wisdom, your understanding so that you can be more and do more of that which you love.

If you don't yet know what your true passion, calling and purpose is, you can work from the other end, moment by moment follow your instinct and your passion will reveal itself through you. You can ask yourself "What can I do right now to keep me happy?" and recognise the significance of choosing to courageously follow your instinct in this moment on the path of consistent happiness.

Of course be careful with this, since apparently what you have been doing to keep you happy "right now" is playing your favorite video games. If you continue to follow this tendency it may be counter productive unless you plan on becoming a professional video game player.

Some people get very well paid for doing this, and they love every day.

Yes Julius, that is why I stated if he wants to be a professional gamer for a living. There are also people that play MMORPGs and earn a living. There are people using bit coins, trading virtual goods, etc. A few years ago a study of a game called ?Liege? showed the game had a bigger real world economy than either Luxembourg or Belgium. There are people that pay real money for virtual land. Hilarious, but it is a legitimate industry that is here to stay.

In my opinion, Esports is peanuts compared to some of the real money being made playing video games.

If you see that there's nothing wrong on what you are doing, then you can stay with that as long as you want. But if if you feel that some people was affected, then you can try to do new things and changes. Don't blame your parents, what they are doing is for your own sake.

I believe that there's no such thing as lazy.
No matter who you are, there will be something that you love
doing and able to come up with motivation.
Such as watching movie or playing games. Where did the motivation
comes from? It is just about whether you know how to channel your
motivation.

And by the way, your grades in school is not going to determine
how successful you are going to be. Grades are just a passport for
you to enter into the working world. You should be the one to define
yourself. :D
