I think I have an eating disorder?

Postby Lazerald » Tue Jan 11, 2011 2:50 pm

When I use to be depressed or really down, I would always go eat something high in carbs or fat, to make me feel better (it works).. So, as you know, cigarettes blunt hunger. I know it does for sure, but it's interesting for me. When I smoke 1 or 2 cigarettes in a row, I get the "full feeling" from cigarettes, but my brain still signals that I'm hungry! Sometimes, I have ate food, and 30 minutes later, my brain sends that "I'm hungry" feeling! Another thing I'd like to say is, if I don't eat, I get a headache..

I think I'm addicted to food. Without it, I get a headache and depressed.

Well of corse your addicted to food, your body needs food to survive and if you don't give your body food it will make you feel hungry and crummy until you eat something. Cigarettes can block hunger temporarily not for good and that seems to me like what your experiencing

Lazerald you first of all gonna quite smoking than you have to over view on the eating disorder. Smoking is also very much dangerous for the health and as you are suffering eating disorder also so pay full attention to your diet and health by visiting a doctor's clinic and getting the useful advice from there......

I am going to sound like a broken record, I'm afraid.
When you (in general) work out, the body immediately feels better afterwards. Working out makes you want to eat healthier.
Just walk for 30 minutes a day, with your dog, or a friend.
Cutting out fatty foods, refined sugar, wheat, and trans fats can help. Eat more protein, too! If you are working out, protein turns into muscle quicker then anything else.
If you haven't been a hard smoker for a long time, then try a nicotine patch or gum.
If you have been a smoker for a long time, then it's best to consult your doctor about a plan.
Also, the most important thing to remember is never skip a meal. Skipping meals and/or starving yourself will probably make you eat more later to make up for it. Regulate meals. Ask friends or family to help remind you.

Taking a magic pill won't make you look perfect, smoking won't get rid of the problems, and starving or overeating will not take care of your emotional issues that cause these deep rooted problems.
Its best to ask a professional. (:
