Please help for family issues.

my family and our tradition as well doesn't smoke and drink.As per them its a bad habit. But few months back out of Job Frustration and family issue i have started the smoking and drinking a little. Now my family looking for my marriage and i dont want that they will get to know about my smoking and drinking life from anyone else it will make it worse for them to live in the society they are now

I dont know what i do? How can i get courage to tell them? i cant focus on my job as well due to this? please help if any suggestion how to handle the situation.

I guess you need to make a decision: whether smoking and drinking are more important to you than fitting in with family expectations.

You say you've been smoking and drinking for only a few months. What are your reasons for wanting to continue? Is there perhaps a need to rebel against your family?

It sounds as though you're headed for an arranged marriage. That's a difficult concept for most forum members (including me) to get our heads around.

You're obviously adult. What do YOU want out of life?

I have already stopped smoking and drinking. But the issue is that i dont want my parents will know about this by any other people and apparently i dont have that much courage to tell them my self.

I was not able to get how can i say this to him, my father will broke if i say:(

I truly don't understand.

If you've already stopped drinking and smoking, why do you have to tell anyone you took up those habits in the first place?

Please help for family issues.
