Postby Big Mouse » Sun Dec 13, 2009 2:27 pm

Hi,been on here before but had computer crash so starting a fresh. Like to drink at night 3-5 tins of beer, sometimes less sometimes more. No breakfast in morning just sausage roll, crisps and can of coke etc, rarely eat lunch then eat at teatime.Past week or so I been getting sdtomach ache not severe just light, doc says I need to cut back and eat more during the day, thinks alot of acid is problem.Eat alot of chines food at night especially chili stuff. Now worried this is stomach cancer or liver probs, but as someone who suffers from stress as well, think worrying is making it worse.Doc says to give drinking and chinese food a rest for awhile.Anyone on here had same please reply cheers Mouse.Oh 43 years of age and male.

It looks to me that you have an atrocious diet. No wonder you have stomach pains. If you feel drinking alcohol relieves you of stress, it may be due to hypoglycemia.

Consider adopting the Hypoglycemic Diet

Hey Big Mouse,

How much fresh fruit and vegetables are you eating? Once you get into the 40s the body tends to less easily tolerate a diet like yours. It's probably important for you to cut down on fat, sugar and salt as well as eating regularly (i.e. three meals per day) - a healthy breakfast of cereal and fruit is always a great start to the day. Also, this forum is about Addiction so you may not get a lot of replies to you post.

I am not professionally qualified to give advice on this topic - I am simply passing on what my dietician has recommended. BTW - what the hell is an 'a&rse' roll ? Doesn't sound too tasty LOL.

alcohol damages the gastric mucosa which causes pain and eventually the development of ulcerations and bleeding. improving your diet will help a little but the only the solution is to stop drinking alcohol for a while and allow your mucosa to heal.

i think this is a good example of when you're fanatic promotion of your hypoglemia agenda can be harmful. yes diet is important, but you fail to mention that alcohol directly damages the stomach lining. it is extremely important that the OP decrease or eliminate alcohol or it will continue to erode the gastric mucosa regardless of any dietary changes.
