how "it" works

Postby panthercoolcat7 » Fri Jul 22, 2016 11:37 pm

1 Context
2 Frame -- meaning of what you are about to do. Setting up expectation. (pre-talk)
3 Train -- Focused on my suggestions, words, and actions. Non-thinking, automatic response to suggestions.
(induction, deepener, routine)
4 Back to 2 escalating 2 and 3 with each pass.

Am I missing anything?

You are training people to
1 focus their attention on your suggestions
2 respond automatically without thought to your suggestions
3 use their imagination to get responses

1 Trigger a model of how to respond that they already have
2 Build a model of how to respond and trigger it
3 Build a response step by step

Recognize
1 Absorbed attention
2 Agreement
3 Disagreement
4 Deep thinking
5 confusion

Why #3? Seems unnecessary.

Most people know that thoughts can cause physical and mental effects, but when that process occurs it still seems almost magical. It seems to me to work as a convincer for the client.

The hypnotist uses the reactions produced by their words and the imagination to create a belief for the client of, post hoc, ergo propter hoc- after this, therefore because of this.

Another way of saying that is... The hypnotist teaches the subjects how to automatically react to suggestion. This is facilitated by a hypnotic trance state, a condition in which the focus of attention is not outside of the body, and the (*)imagination automatically reacts to suggestion instead of peripheral awareness. This is because peripheral awareness is being shut down as well as our analytical mind, resulting in our ability to disbelieved becoming suspended.

So, what is suggested by the hypnotist becomes the new reality for the subject.

(*)Some use the term imagination instead of sub-conscious

It's important to direct the imagination and conscious response together so that the two become one. The automatic response of the imagination carries over into an automatic response of the conscious will of the client. Use 3 to strengthen the response of 1 and 2.

Have the client
1 do something
2 believe/imagine something will happen
3 notice a feeling in their body
4 visualize something
5 remember something
6 internally hear, smell or taste something
7 focus on something their body is doing

Utilization. Interpret anything that happens in a way that contributes to the hypnotic experience.

Connect pleasure, compulsion, automatic behavior, to following your suggestions. Connect pain with not following your suggestions.

Loss of physical/emotional balance. Forces awareness to a strong single focus. For a brief moment the mind searches for anything that will help make sense of the situation, and will accept any suggestion that might fit.

Priming. A stimulus is presented that influences a person's later response. Alluding to something. Refer indirectly.
1 Same category (wolf, dog)
2 Things you do in the same place or with the same people, tools, scenario.
3 Phonetic ambiguities (heal, heel)
4 Words that rhyme (heel, feel, real)

Anchoring. A stimulus that triggers a response. Something that starts a response, urge, memory, emotion, etc.

What is escalation?

I'm not sure if that has to do anything with nlp/hypnosis.

It sounds like you're then under a spell of course sellers who want to make you insecure.

By escalation I mean start with small easy to accept suggestions and progress to larger more complex suggestions. If I say "You are the king of France" as my first suggestion that is not as easy to accept as "exhale and relax".

A common recipe

State 1 Mentally focused, body extremely relaxed
State 2 Mindlessly following the Hypnotist suggestions.

1. Suggest that state 1 will cause state 2
2. Induce state 1
