Postby mute » Mon Jan 19, 2004 7:29 am

i have a very big problem i dont know when it started but i just notticed it coupla years ago thatevery time i start to do something that involves my imagination or creating something i have ideas in my head usually, sometimes lots of ideas. but as soon as my eyes see the blank sheet of paper(in case of drawing) my mind goes as blank as that sheet of paper (i can draw pretty good when i actually catch what i want to draw) mostly its when im in really bad mood or really depressed i try to be alone and i kinda concentrate on what im doing alot harder than usual i made couple of webpages and allovasudden i ran out of ideas and same with making music i have the music in my head but as soon as i see a blank setup for a song its gone and same problem with speaking i know what to say before or after conversation. does anyone have an ansver to this?

Hi Mute and welcome to the forum :)

So, as I understand it, you are good creatively, but when you get down to actually working on a particular project the creativity kind of freezes. Is that correct?

Have you tried imagining strongly, creatively visualising, actually getting down to work? If you strongly imagine actually doing the work as well as imagining the creative work it self this might help.

Best wishes

i think i found the problem:)
not long ago i was thinkin about it while trying to draw a picture and i realized that every time i try to create something i expect it to be perfect but i have no idea how to work around it i tried once just drawing whatever comes to mind no matter what i think about it but it worked for mebe coupla days and my tricky brain "forgot about it" kinda .

Hi Mute

Give it another go like that....,we don't want perfection but some kind of production for the time being, and see how it goes :)

Best wishes

i do this if im drawing. but if you have an idea, take the general idea and just start drawing. as you go different ideas may arise and you can branch out on the original idea. i don't do a lot of official drawing (drawing with a strict purpose) anymore. i doodle alot. ill just make some sort of mark and try to form some sort of picture out of it. freeflowing. when i do draw with the purpose of making a good picture, it usually works out. i don't know if it will work for you but it could.
