This was asked within a hypnosis group. Original Q "When evaluating client mental health, What questions do you think is most important to ask?"

Is it relay possible to control mental illness like this, is it possible to change immediately?

One of the answers:

Doing evaluations is pointless. You make up and ask questions in order to slice their experience in meaningful ways - to find out how they build and maintain generalizations that serve as guiding blueprints for their internal processes.

Find the ways in which they use their beliefs, meta-programs & values to distort & delete their sensory input so as to maintain and hold consistent their generalizations which are those same beliefs, meta-programs & values at work within specific contexts.

If while eliciting their internal processes through gathering information you find that they are strenuousness, you can always elicit different ones that are much more useful and create bliss & delight. Elicitation is a nice piece of installation in on itself.

In order to know a way of how to do this safely you can do the following 5 trainings in this order.
Richard Bandler - Welcome to Reality
Richard Bandler - Structure of Magic Vol I
(Find how meta-model distortions are occurring not only through language, but also through internal imagery, sounds, emotions, tastes & smells. Pay particular attention to the last chapter, it's the important one.)
Richard Bandler - Building & Maintaining Generalizations
M. Hall - Structure of Identity (Personality)
M. Hall - The Spirit of NLP

The logical thing to do after this is to buy the following two books, go through them and one by one recapitulate by modeling and doing yourself every single effect you find just as a measure of building skill.
Milton Erickson M.D. - Time Distortion in Hypnosis
DSM-5 Manual

On top of that now you'll be able to slam in any variety of effects conversationally.

If someone comes in and asks "Are you doing therapy without licence?" - given that the whole framework of law works on frames of meaning - you answer "Therapy presupposes that the client is f***ed up, has a problem and needs fixing", you go "I know that the internal ongoing processes are like a solid mechanism that can be changed in any instance, therefore i have nothing to do with therapy, plus it just happens to be so that every time the person i consult finds out how they do things, they suddenly have a choice to stop and on their own they do so."

Doing evaluations is pointless because you don't want to find out about things, what you want is to find how to immediately alter processes.

It's this, or either you do the thing that Nitin Kumar Upadhyay pointed to where you as a practitioner study yoga. In both cases you end up being able to alter every internal process. Note that Yoga is far more stronger and goes beyond the physical.
