What Could therapy do for me?

Postby Unprepared » Thu Apr 03, 2014 1:53 am

I do not intend to self-diagnose myself, But my Misconceptions are preventing me from advancing to a result. I fear the outcome for me and my family. I can relate myself in categorizes such as sociopathic , dissociative identity disorder, and many others that my bias perceptions cause stress. I truly feel I should be scared, I don't like feeling my life is going nowhere (my ideal perspective, and I can put into words what my ideal is). I've found a renewed sense of purpose, one I can understandably maintain. My knowledge of myself tells me I need to pursue ways to identify these throughout life with therapy, I do not want to lose this "new ideal" so to speak.

A therapeutic relationship with a good therapist can be an amazing experience. A lot of people think that therapy is for crazy people, whereas in reality it is a journey of self discovery.

If you are already considering it I would urge you to find a good therapist, see if you click with them, and give it a go. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain.

P.S. if I sound passionate about therapy, it's cuz I am. I am going to be a therapist myself soon so it would defeat the whole purpose if I wasn't passionate about it, wouldn't it.

It is fantastic that you have made the first step to acknowledging that you may need to see a therapist. Therapy with the right practitioner can be brilliant and it can provide you with the space to talk through situations in your life and for you to be able to share life experiences with a person that is non-judgemental. The therapists role is to help you take control of your life and for you to make your own decisions. Good luck and I hope you find the right therapist.
