Hello,
I have found this website a couple of weeks ago when I had derealization issues from weed withdrawal. The stories here really helped me to calm my nerves, and since then many of my symptoms have actually improved a lot.
I have used weed heavily from 2016 to 2020. At the beginning of this year, I have decided to stop using and have a fresh start in my life, so my last spliff was smoked 3.5 months ago. I have used weed in an on and off fashion, meaning I was usually high for 1-2 months, followed by one clear month. I have only smoked joints exclusively, and I was a heavy smoker as well. During my use I actually perceived my use to be highly problematic, however, I was not able to quit for good. Long story short, I went to psychotherapy in 2019 which lasted for about 2 years and with its help, I was able to end this habit.
While some side effects mildly persist (most notably fear of death, but I think this is related to a previous psychedelic use) my issue is that I have a pain in my jaw ever since I quit. It did not happen instantaneously, like for the first two weeks my jaw was alright. After the second week or so, I noticed that my hearing is not as good as before, and I have also had pain around my ears. I visited some doctors, I thought this might be attributed to wisdom teeth pain, but after they removed one of them the pain still there. Initially, there were headaches as well but after a month or so I only have a mild but consistent pain around my ears. After waking up everything is fine, I don't feel the pain (so I guess it's not night bruxism), but after like half an hour I start to feel it. I thought it could be somehow also related to the mask-wearing because of COVID but I am not convinced. Coffe and stress do not help as well.
My question is if there is anyone on this forum who had similar jaw problems after quitting M? I saw some similar topics around here but it would be nice to have someone's feedback who has experienced such withdrawal symptoms.
Thank you in advance, my internet friends, stay strong!
