Can someone help me? I only have my attacks at bedtime but recently Iv been getting this feeling in my throat, it feels like my throat is closing up. Is this a symptom of my anxiety or should I go the doctors to get it checked, I dont really want to go the doctors if there isnt anything wrong, I fell like Im being a hypocondriac

Hi Kelley

A tight throat is often caused by anxiety - even the Greeks knew this and called it Globus Hystericus, although there's not much hysterical about it if you ask me.

But of course, as with all these things, if you are seriously worried you should see your doctor.

One check is to relax deeply for half an hour to an hour (using say hypnosis, and see how your symptoms are then.

All the best

Roger
