Why do toxic people spread

Hello there,

Let's just get down to it. I am a very happy person. I have a great family, 3 beautiful children and my wife is my soul mate. I wake up with a purpose everyday to learn something new at work, spend time with my family, and have some quality research/hobby time to close every-day activity.

The reason I am here is simply put, is because I have been randomly verbally attacked by a stranger, from High-School.
He is now a moderately successful Comedian, it would seem by his following.

I woke up today and was having my coffee and scrubbing through my Social's when i saw a DM. The DM read this:

"Oh no, You procreated."

Let me say this, you don't know the rage you feel before someone insults you on your parenting. it's more than maddening, it's almost like a switch goes off inside your head and you go into a state of fight or flight (mostly fight).

There had been no prior contact with this person to date, simply just a new message insinuating that i was sub-human, incapable of being a proper parent, and/or a parent to a monster or something.

I showed my Wife, and thankfully got my phone back before she began to go-off, as she was maddened just as i.

He then continued to tell me to go "***** Myself".

I said simply "You must be kidding, I don't even know you"

He then said "So you never stole from me? Must have been someone else. Sorry, I hold Grudges, have a good day."

Now i know he was confused and was probably drunkenly smashing his thumb while writing his filth, however,

I just cant shake this, even with this being a wrongly directed missile.

I am a great parent, i just want to know why someone would pull on those vitals and send ANYONE into a blind rage like the rage i was and AM still in.

Any feedback on this would be great, thank you all for listening to my rant / request for clarity.

You shouldn't be worried about it. Honestly. There are thousands out there who'll want to get into your skin, also there are plenty who derive sadistic pleasure out of one's misery. You shouldn't pay heed to what such people say. Especially a random person who has no participation, activity, or place in your life. The person's opinion doesn't matter. You shouldn't allow people to shake you up in this manner.

You consider this filth? Have you and your wife somehow missed all the evidence of global warming, the inevitable result of that, and the reason for it? It's US!

Like the man says, we're well past the 59th minute. Even if you personally don't give a toss about Homo sapiens heading for extinction, what kind of a world are you bringing more humans into? Given what's going on now, what do you think conditions will be like for them when they're 21? Will they be able to afford a home, and if so, on what presently green land will it be built? Where will they park their cars? What will they eat? What work might they do that doesn't involve degradation of the environment and extinction of other species?

It's nothing to do with you being "sub-human, incapable of being a proper parent, and/or a parent to a monster or something", it's just plain common sense,

Was that all he wrote in the first message or was there more?
Because I don't see any reference to your parenting abilities or that you are subhuman?? it just expresses dismay that you created more people LIKE YOU, as he obviously doesn't like YOU and thinks that one of you is one too many, let alone 3 others that share your genes.

Look it's just a snide, flippant pot shot from someone who obviously thinks that back in your school days YOU were a toxic person and he was on the end of YOUR toxicity and he still bears that grudge... probably not the deepest wound in the world, just that he saw your name (or whatever) and it reminded him of that w*nker who stole from him and so he takes a pot shot. Probably nothing more to it than that. Except that you think he has mis-identified you as the thief.

If you've written back to say he has mis-identified his thief and then he hasnt accepted it's a mistake then just let it go, it's trivial and the misunderstanding has nothing to do with you.

Because there is so much negative information around us (mass media, YT, etc) that it is easier to be toxic, my opinion.

Do nto worry you are not alone, you just need to be strong and try to be more optimistic as much as possible. For me diversion works best always.

Remain calm and do not take these things personally, When people have bad days, they take it out on others, its the fallen human state.
