How to do Instant Mannequin Hypnosis?

Postby Maddox1000 » Mon May 08, 2017 12:00 am

I believe this is the correct place to post this (if not let me know).

I've been trying to figure it out for a while now and google hasn't helped. How would one instantly freeze a person in place using hypnosis, so that they couldn't move at all but were still aware? Then, how would I unfreeze them?

Note that this is with them giving full consent. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you!

Of course it is with their full consent, because that is the only way it ever works.

No person can be hypnotized without consent, because hypnosis by and large is a belief driven pseudoscience. The mannequin must believe in hypnosis, they must believe in the capacity for another person to control them. It is only through this belief, that a person (the mannequin) will not only comply with whatever the hypnotists asks, but then self report and truly believe they had no control of their own actions.

I would search for people that hold a strong belief in hypnosis.

Erm, I'm having conflicted thoughts on how to respond to this? For two reasons. First, what prior experience do you have with hypnosis? It is of course not absolutely neccessary to be an expert, but maybe you are aiming too high for now? That is, presuming your question is even still relevant?

Assuming it is, and google still didn't help - unsurprisingly, google is a great library, but a bad teacher for interpersonal relations - here's a general idea: talk with the one you want to hypnotize. Yes, I apologize if that sounds like I'm making fun of you or the question. Believe me, I'm not.

But there is the saying that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. Simply put, if you hypnotize someone and tell them they turn into a Mannequin on cue it might not work simply because they think: "No, I don't want to." Communicate, talk it over and especially, be attentive of your subject. The hypnotist doesn't go and command the subject, he can only act as a guide that gives suggestions and makes sure they suit the subject.

Also, make sure your subject feels safe all throughout. Think about it, freezing in mid-motion until someone else releases you would definitely come with a certain anxiety and a feeling of helplessness. That is a rather common reason why people I've worked with had trouble accepting that particular suggestion. They weren't sure on a rather subconcious level whether they could risk of remaining motionless and frozen and I first had to talk with them about it, see how we could improve that or if we had to maybe post-pone things for a while.

All in all, and without involving any more details, all I guess I can say is practice and patience make perfect. Or at least successful.
