How fast is this forum?

it's okay at this moment, but most of the time i have really wait for page loads.

it seems that a click sends a request and then the servers take time getting back - when the pages pop up they really just pop right up. Watching the status in the bottom (using extended status bar on firefox) it just sits there, not getting any info, and then after 10 seconds or so BAM the whole page arrives.

seems like a webserver issues rather than a bandwidth issue. I figured it was just because i'm "across the pond"

It is rather slow because a page takes approximately 10 seconds to load, even though I'm on a T1 line. I'm sure the servers have plenty of disk space, so I'd guess that dedicated host doesn't have a large enough bandwidth to handle all demands.

latency from my position is presently ~105 ms and the forum is loading well.

tracert from here indicates that the bottleneck occurs because the signal goes from the US to Amsterdam and back to the US before going over to Webfusion (I guess that's your ISP?)

IP address of the first real bottleneck is 65.106.0.125 (at least from my present location)

It seems like this is a routing problem within the ISP rather than a server issue (in my limited opinion)

Just to let you know we've found a new home for the forum and the preparation work for the move has started. We're hoping to make the transfer within the next week or so, at which time the forum will be down for a short period.

It's quite slow sometimes, other times not so slow, i always imagine it being server side.

It's super-spanking-great now compared to what it was before they moved the doodah onto a different thingy ... yay!!

This place moves. I think more people are coming here than any other forum site! It's the name: "Uncommon Knowledge." They get everything...to general pyschology to their physical helath and why they should!

I think this is the fastest moving site.
