Sometimes I feel so much hate that I want to kill people. What should I do to control my anger then?

You could start by asking yourself - genuinely and honestly - why exactly it is that you feel that way and where these feelings are coming from. It won't come to you right away but if you're prepared to listen to yourself deep down, equipped with the advance knowledge that what you discover may be painful, then sooner or later you'll begin to close in on and identify the source of your unresolved anger. Then do some thinking and research about how to deal with and neutralize the anger at source.

First allow me to start with a digression, but it does have some bearing on what we will discuss.

I write some of my younger friends big newsy and sometimes philosophically elaborate emails, and when they bother to reply at all, I get one or two small sentences. I found the lack of reciprocity puzzling and a little bit irksome. Then I noticed that one of my friends was reviewing his email, but not on a computer, but on his little Pad Thing, and those little Pad Things are virtually useless when it comes to fully expressing any kind of idea or even telling good story, full of details and all kinds of intellectual and emotional texture. The best they can do is Thumb Out a Text Sentence, like some teenage girl with her cell phone. But it is still puzzling to me, as to why on Earth people would choose to buy such virtually Useless and at the same time Hugely Expensive Crap. Yes, they can stare at it, and it can amuse them, but when it comes to Doing anything and Creating anything … Steve Jobs was apparently both very discerning and very cynical – he made a Ton of Money by believing that people were complete idiots, and he was proved right about it. You know, sometimes when I have to stand in line for Coffee, I wonder whether Civilization may not end first. Things happen so quickly nowadays, like the Round and Round of a toilet flushing – people think we are moving forward, but I suspect we are all just circling the drain.

Okay, I am back. Dear W666, Do you have a Computer or did you right that with your thumbs?

You realize that you are giving us Hard Working Helpers next to nothing to work with.

What really did you tell us? You didn’t actually say that you ever Really DO get Angry. You just say that you Feel Hate. Well, as long as you do not raise your voice and make a scene, I don’t see that you have a problem. So you hate a lot of People. That may simply mean that circumstances are forcing you to mingle with a great many people who are simply well beneath your Social and Intellectual Standards. Do I WANT to Kill Them? Well, IF I could snap my fingers, without anybody seeing, and such people would fall over from a Heart Attack, and nobody would guess to Blame Me For it… SNAP SNAP SNAP SNAP SNAP. If I had a guilty conscience at all, it would be from overloading the poor Coroner, and so I would stop my SNAPPING once in a while just to let the poor man catch up on all those Natural Deaths.

Oh, please allow me to elaborate on the point that I made above. You might find this Intellectually Useful. IF you just ‘feel ‘ hatred, and ‘want’ to kill people, without actually doing anything, then technically you Never Became Angry. You see Anger is a Behavior. The Feeling that Makes us Angry is, and you guess right, is HATRED. Yes, yes… even some experts use the Word Anger to mean Two Things at the Same Time – they Mean It to be both the Emotion that Causes the Disturbing Behavior, as well as the Behavior Itself. Even the Doctors do it, but may I point out, they ARE only Doctors, but I have a Degree in Philosophy. And I studied Languages as a hobby. English is not usually such a Sloppy and Incomplete Language, but in this Case, English has a Real Problem. Anger, as a Word should Not be both the Cause and the Effect. It is like saying “I got Angry because I got Angry”…. You see, we really have no idea whether there was just a quiet but disturbing emotion going on in somebody’s head, or some guy trashed his Office and threw the Boss out the Window. English should be better than that.

Anyway, if you can find a way, please expand on what you think your problem is so that we have something more substantial to deal with.
