Can anyone help me with this? I just cannot stop blushing when I speak in public. I have tried doing relaxation exercises before I speak, even hypnotherapy, but nothing has changed. I just keep going red in front of an audience.

I cannot avoid speaking because it is part of my job. I am getting to the point where I am even considering resigning (!) but there are so few good jobs available in this recession, that I really can't afford to.

Well, I'd be grateful for your suggestions. Thanks.

Speak more.

Teachers effectively "blush" the first few classes every semester. It is normal to be a bit nervous. But, after the repeating the material again, and again, and again, the nervousness goes away. When you speak ad nauseam it is basically impossible to continue to worry.

The challenge you might face is the opportunities to speak. If your job is limiting you to only speaking publicly once a week, then it might be difficult. And if your job requires you to create new material that can add to the challenge.

But, if it's the same speech every single day, multiple times a day then you should be able to develop "blush" immunity.

The bottom line, find more ways to speak, and deliberately spend time practicing, again, and again, and again.
