I can't learn new things....

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be here, but since self-improvement is part of this thread, so I thought I'd talk about this here.
I'm a student and can't seem to graduate, I failed two times and in subjects that aren't that difficult, but since they introduce concepts I can't seem to get familiar with them. Other subjects on the other hand where other people have problems, I do fairly well or really well, but fail miserably in those others. I can't seem to learn new concepts, and I know it's a mistake, but I'm starting to get increasingly frustrated with that fact. How do I get my momentum back?

I'm assuming you've already put this question to your tutors. It's their job to get you through it.

How interested are you in the subjects you're failing? Being unable to get familiar with the concepts suggests the subject is alien to you. You can't make yourself be interested in something that doesn't float your boat.

If the concepts are integral to your course work and you're determined to stick with it, get hold of some text books that aren't on the curriculum or design a research project for yourself. There's nothing like mastery to increase our enjoyment of a subject.

It may be the way the material is being presented. While your instructor may recommend certain text books, try to find other ones. There were many subjects where I would often find another text book, online videos, etc and then these were the ones that helped me understand the material.

You may also want to seek some tutors or peer study groups. Try different perspectives, different tools, technqiues. If you approached the course the same way each time then the approach may be the problem.

I think I know what you are talking about. There just seem to be some subject where it is harder to grasp the concepts. However, keep in mind, once you do grasp it, you will feel that pleasure and then you will really understand it much much better
