Hello!

My name is Anna. I live in the United States and have been interested in hypnosis for several years now. I stumbled across this site and I am very happy that I will be able to learn something that I can use to help myself and others!

Hello,

I just found this board through an old post on Hypnothoughts.

I have been doing hypnosis for about 8 years now. I have a part-time practice in a small town in Arkansas. I am also a Naturopathic Doctor, and have been doing that for almost 20 years, part-time of course. I have been studying the mind for about 18 years, which is kinda what lead me to hypnosis.
I enjoy working with people for all kinds of problems, and have worked with smoking as well as different problems caused by childhood traumas, such as panic attacks, anxiety and seizures. I have worked with people from age 9 to 80+.

I look forward to interacting and learning here on this board.

Thanks!

Hi all,
I've been into hypnosis for about a year now and my style leans Ericksonian. I've hypnotized a few friends in the past, nothing serious.
Looking forward to meeting the community.

Hey my name is Dennis and I have my own blog about improving self esteem and self confidence.

I was always interested in these topics so I like to write about it and help others with these issues.

I joined to educate myself about hypnosis, primarily self-hypnosis. I've tried listening to endless hours of recordings to "master self-hypnosis" and I have no sense that I'm getting anywhere. With this seeming string of failures I thought it time to try to find some real experts and users whom I can learn from. If I'm able to self-hypnotize and make some changes in my life I would be grateful but so far it hasn't happened.

Hi guys. I am from sunny South Africa and as a kid have always been interested in hypnotism and magic! Now I am no longer a kid :( and am more interested in science and the physical world.
A few months ago a book (Thinking fast and slow) re-sparked my interest in Hypnosis and the science behind it.
I find it fascinating and a fun little hobby, and will probably never need it for any kind of actual work.

Right now I am still trying to figure out how to hypnotise my wife, and eventually would like to try out self hypnosis.
I am here because I have had many failures till now, and hope to eventually get some kind of positive response with some help here.

i am in hell lot of a guilt and shame over a mistake committed by me. It is there to such an extent that sometimes i want to end my life and get out of this misery. is there a way to erase that event completely from my memory by hynotherapy?

Hello! My name is Franc-Xavier, I am a 27 years old Quebec-born hypnotist that now live in Western Canada. My English is not yet perfect but I think fairly understandable - nevertheless, you're more than welcome to correct my mistakes and ask me clarifications if I am unclear.

My relationship with hypnosis is atypical. I feel deeply bound to the practice and the spirit behind it. I use suggestion regularly at my job - I am a bouncer - and various subcommunication tools. I want to start "hypnobusking" as a mean to finance my travel in the years to come.

Yet, I AM TOTALLY AFRAID TO MAKE THE FIRST STEP. Strangely, I am socially quite at ease and deal pretty well with other person perspective, no matter how positive or negative they are and I did successfully put many friends and acquaintance into trance before, and even strangers introduce to me in partys. I think I've got maybe 20 successful "short seance" with 3 or 4 "abreaction" or what I consider failed suggestions.

I have a hard time understanding why, but it is like if I had a subconscious heavy inhibition into bringing hypnosis on the table on a discussion with a stranger, not even talking about approaching them with that. While I can knock at 100 doors a day to sell personnal insurances...

I know that performing hypnosis is part of my path, for education and for fun. I'll go as baby steps as necessary, but with regularity.

If you have any advice or ressource for my issue, I'll be really grateful!

Impatient to share my progression with you guys!

That sounds fun.

If you start a thread about it and give a bit more explanation about what exactly you're trying to do and where you are at with it, I'd be interested in reading it and sharing my input.

Welcome to the forum!

I'm actually going to a hypnotherapist soon. I'm very nervous because it's my first time. I really hope it works!

I'm going through anxiety and overthinking and worries. It's really been affecting my motivation and happiness. I really hope hypnotherapy works.

My interest in hypnosis is mostly in regard to personal growth. I am not a hypnotist but have spent many years in helping professions. I am more interested in learning about how the brain works and how and why hypnotism works than in practicing.

I registered a few months ago with an email that will soon be inactive. One company bought out by another company and many changes are upcoming. Is there a way to keep my username and change the email, or would I have to re-register with a new email and new username?

Sure! Go to "User Control Panel" up top, then "Profile", then "Edit account settings" (ucp.php?i=profile&mode=reg_details). Enter your new address twice, your current password once at the bottom, and submit.
