Yes you will do, muscle weighs more then fat... your body is getting toned up and your gaining muscle from the exercise... so yeah your will gain weight.. as your getting more muscle.

I would suggest rather than do 200 sit ups, mix them up with some other body weight work such as tricep dips, press ups and squats as this will also even out the muscle weight

doing cardio and training ONE muscle group will not produce much gains in muscle weight...doing sports brought out an even bigger hunger in me, so I ate way more than I expended during my activities and still manage to gain (fat) weight

It may be related to your diet. For someone to not loose weight by this it could be attributed to having a too acidic body.

Our diet needs a balance between acidic foods and alkalinic foods. When there is too much acid in the system losing weight just isn't efficient.

For every particle of acid we need 4 parts of alkaline to balance it. Alkaline comes mostly through vegatables, fruits and some bottled water. Drinking a lot of water daily and avoiding foods that you know are heavy on you could help.

There is plenty of information about alkaline foods on the internet. Giving yourself a proper diet should go hand in hand with working out and actually make you feel a lot better while working out.

3 questions:
1)What are you eating throughout the day? People have a tendency to underestimate the amount of kcal they take in. For instance jogging for 3 miles would probably cost your body 700kcal (depends on your size and speed of course). And doing sit ups kills virtually no energy. So if you took in a 2800 Kcal daily meal intake, you will gain weight. Whether that is muscles or fat, only you could tell.

2) how hard do you work out? If you are working really hard your glycogen level will go up and retain more muscles and fluids in your skeletal muscle system. It's not uncommon for me to gain 3-4 pounds after a 40 hour 100 miles trek, the weight however drops off in no time as the majority is glycogen (carbs stored in your body to provide power needed for athletics pursuit).

3 how much rest are you getting? Getting less the. 6hours sleep have been known to lead to water retention. On the topic of water retention, what is your sodium intake and alcohol intake, both wreak havoc on us aspiring Adonis.

Peace
