The point of this is to make it so that you can just literally sit and observe your own emotions continuously.

If you start observing something else, do another round of exercises to make it easier again to observe your emotions.

Once you feel in a way that the meaning and outlook on emotions has changed in a way you want, you do one final round of the exercises.

After that you literally sit down and allow yourself to freely leach onto anything you do. This will save the changes, you'll feel when the process of "saving" is done.

The impact of this should be that now after it when you look at the context where the old emotion of anger used to start it will be a different emotion now.

It will change the quality of the experience itself.

I also wanted to add that the whole point about getting in touch with your emotions has to do with actually looking at them.

This also means that if you observe and familiarize yourself with your emotions, you can later on recognize the emotions you're having and what they mean.

And if you know what's going on, you get to change it, this time at the emotional level of course.

Once you adjust the emotional states you're having on the fly, you can change the quality of the experience on the go.

This gives tremendous freedom of choice. Someone in this thread wrote about that emotions are the mechanism on whom the decision making stands and that logic is based and filtered through emotions.

The whole thing about EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE is that it gives another window into having a look at logical decision making. How the decisions are actually built and based off of emotions.

This basically means that if you can somehow grip your emotions and direct them, you can direct yourself into doing what you wish. This also changes the ways in which you do the thing that you wish to do.

There's also the thing that how ever intelligent you are, the intelligence is comes into play and is glued to proper emotional states in whom the intelligence was acquired. This is because all learning is state dependent. That's why it's called state dependent learning.

It's not just that emotional control gives you new intelligence, it means that you can assess the stuff you already learned through controlling emotions.
