Coping with a girlfriend who left you due to depression

It is important to never forget who you are. Living with depression can be one of the most painful experiences of our lives. I have lived with depression myself. People must understand that depression is a disease and sickness. It drains everything out of you. Sometimes one with depression can only handle one activity a day. These patients must sleep a lot in order to complete this. A lot of people do not understand how depression can destroy relationships. People with depression have trouble staying connected. It is important to know how to cope. I have found that coping is a struggle. We need assurance that our partner will come back. Our partner left us in the dark to take the world on our own. Hope for our depressed partner is one of the most important things we can accomplish. This shows that we have not given up on them. We can blame ourselves that we might have caused their depression. People cannot think that way. This is the disease talking. If we blame ourselves then it will be more challenging to move on. There will be times that our depressed partner can blame us for their problems when they clearly need help. There are things we can do to help boost our self-esteem while coping. Exercise is an essential factor because we are feeling good about ourselves by releasing endorphins. Music is a great way to help us feel better. I would also suggest talking to a professional and talking it out. The best way for me to overcome my partner who has depression is to write it out and that is why I have started to blog on here. Spending time with friends and family and keeping busy are the best ways to feels better. I have found that doing anything to keep yourself distracted can help. Again, it is important to never let us forget who we are. We can't depend on someone else for our own happiness. There are many people who are suffering in this cruel world. It is important to remember our values, morals, and responsibilities so that we do not forget who we are.

Dear Bowler32,

Thank you for your meaningful words and advises, I truly agree with the points you have shared.
depression is an evil sickness that drains many things in a person, which effect a person lifes completely, be it relationships, work and everything else.

By reading your words, I know you are a fighter, a strong spirit, which refuses to be drifted by depression easily.
Keep it up, life is amazing, it has its ups and downs, and we only need to grow stronger or change the way we think to overcome life.

I wish you all the best, you are wonderful.

Sincerly,
Baxso

Life is truly amazing. There aren't words that do not even come close to describe what life is about. I appreciate you saying that I am a fighter, because I am. I have always been this way in my own life. Life is too short to feel sad. There are many people willing to help. It absolutely has its ups and downs. I am a very spiritual person. This has helped me a lot throughout the short years I have lived on this planet. It is important to never give up. I want to give my life lessons to the world so they understand that life is beautiful. I hope that my future posts will be as helpful also. Good luck to you as well.

Dear Bowler32,

I find your words very encouraging, I wish you all the strength and happiness in this life.
Yes, life is an amazing thing, we need to appreciate it, love and to be loved back, respect and to be respected.

People simply need to express their feelings and emotions, to share what is happening inside their chest and very soul, I personally find it very relaxing to talk and address the problems that I have, it lifts the stress over my chest.

Keep your high spirits up, share your strong and positive words, I know many might not reply back, but believe me, many will read those lines and it will reflect upon their spirit and way of thinking.

Sincerely,
Baxso

Thanks Bowler.

I am going through this situation myself. My bf is severely depressed. He is also a spiritual person so although he says he is ready to pass on, he will not kill himself because of his belief. I hope his thoughts doesn't go beyond that. I think I am doing a good job by keeping myself occupied and staying on the sidelines, letting him know that I am just here for him. He never said he wanted out and talks to me from time to time, albeit casually, but the thought lurks in my head a lot.

Thanks for the encouraging words!
