how to create an obsession?

Postby Hypnoboy » Sun Dec 31, 2017 2:14 pm

I would like to have an obsession.

is that possible? Are there specific mechanisms, mind-sets or ideas that improve an obsession for something?
And as important maybe: why are some people never really obsessed by something?

I hope it doesnt sound too stupid, but I think it is better to exaggerate in specific situations.

Please help.

Create intense and continuous FOCUS upon that which you desire to be obsessed. This is by definition. Look up synonyms for the word. Think non-stop until it becomes habitual.

Alternately, not being focused will not create an obsession. There are plenty of people around with scattered focus. Thanks for the topic; this interests me and I'll be paying more attention to myself on this matter, as well as to those around me.

Greetings Hypnoboy,
What do you wish to be obsessed with and why?
I assure you I ask without judgement and the intent to assist.

Okay I am willing to tell this.

But first I would like to know what difference it would make?

I know there are people who are excessively obsessed by things that ruins their life. Like cleaning the house or playing computer games. Things that seem to be necessary for them, one can be positive as it results in a nice cleaned house, the other can be destructive for your daily life.

It seems there are things we can do repeatedly with a great dose of fanaticism. I would like to figure out how to become more fanatic and more focused on one thing. In this case: my daily work.

I know there is a motivation formula ( this discussion might now prone more towards willpower but okay), anyway you can follow the formula with parameters like: expectation, instrumentality and valence. I place my actions in the perspective of these 3 things.

This has worked for a a few years and my life improved as well as the outlook does. But I still have a long way to go.

I want to keep on improving and I want to be able to become more and more obsessed. It is not that I don't understand how to create nlp-patterns. But what I don't get is why some people are obsessed and what makes one thing more important above the other.

The person's value system, which is based upon that person's level of consciousness, consciousness being how in tune that person is with reality, makes one thing more important above another thing.

Ah very good then you wish to improve your capacity to effectively and efficiently perform your job. To be the very best at what you do.

This is actually a very commom desire and I believe this is far more simple a task than you (and most people frankly) realize Hypnoboy.

What prey tell is your job? Specifically now... specificity is key! What elements make up your job as a whole? There are probably more tasks and subtasks than you may realize.

I ask... No I challenge you! To create a "mindmap" of all of these tasks.

If you do this, to your utmost! Then I will teach you obsession.
