possible indicator of inefficient dopamine receptor genes.

adrenaline junkies crave stimulation so we often end up going more places and doing new things.

I picked up parkour for a while, martial arts for a while, rock climbing, white water... but I also crave more stimulation in my normal life so that has motivated me to try and do bigger things such as write novels and invest in real estate.

Being an adrenaline junkie is good because:

1) The above mentioned reasons

It's bad if/because

1) It's difficult to be content in doing "normal" things

2) It motivates you to take risks, so you need to learn more self control.

That's where everyone needs to find a balance.

Buy the supplement at Whole Foods called Adrenal Health by Gaia Herbs. I used to be an adrenaline junkie, and was eventually unable to concentrate. This has helped me completely and I don't need to take it every month now. You could have candida overgrowth or another health thing causing the kidneys to be producing less dopamine.

I would class my self as a junkie. The ways I get the 'buzz' is by doing triple figure speeds on my motorbike, scaling buildings, cranes without any gear (highest so far is 200ft) sea kayaking.

It has become an addiction really, and I do find it hard to concentrate on things.

Mine originally started when I was about 12 and really in to trail biking, I slowly went on to higher things. Then it 16 I got my 1st motorbike, which made me go crazy, I had the short fall of coming off and breaking my neck, shoulder, wrist and 14ribs. When I could finally walk and then ride again, it all started again, 1st with small things like wheelies, but then it got worse and I was back were I left off, then at 18 past my test and got straight onto my 650racer, which was heavily modified, but soon after I had another fall. Trying to take a corner far to fast in the wet, which made me go over a ditch through a hedge and slide across a court yard with the bike on me then down another ditch, leaving me stucck for around 4hours until someone noticed me due to the trail of bike bits. This broke my tibia, fibia, almost tore my right foot off, resulting in 6months in a wheel chair, I then got straight back on the bike, and started doing it all again. The main problem with all this is that my then girlfriend is exactly the same and if I go 'slow' she starts moaning at me for been boring.

Other things include getting out of moving cars and onto a moving bike. Breaking into construction sites, and climbing the cranes.

I think my job doesn't help with it because as a steel erector, i am put in protentially deadly situations everyday and get a thrill when I fall off and am left swinging by my harness some 200ft up.

I know that some people find it extreme and say that I shoul be careful and i'm not grateful for nearly killing myself and coming out alive and able bodied. But I think it is just the way that some people are wired
