In doing a Google search on the topic of carrot juice related to food restriction, I found this "tip:"

"Try to mix lime juice and ginger juice in equal proportions. Add sufficient rock salt to this solution and keep it in sun for 3 days. Try to take one table spoon of this syrup daily after taking your meal. This syrup can help you in increasing your appetite and you can easily avoid the symptoms of anorexia nervosa." -http://www.healthwatchcenter.com/2008/02/essential-nutritional-tips-for-anorexia-nervosa/

Good lord! This is so horrid sounding it actually ruins my appetite!
I esp. like how it says, "Try to take..." :P

this is why you don't listen to random people on the internet for dieting advice.

I can see how it could stimulate your appetite. It sounds a bit like Honeygar (Google it) - which is equal parts cider vinegar and manuka honey, and this is taken to support digestion. The ginger and lime combo would ferment (like vinegar) in the heat of the sun. It'd just produce a ginger-flavoured lime vinegar, instead of a honey-flavoured cider vinegar.

I think that they only say "try to take" it - because anorexics can literally struggle to eat a tablespoon of anything after a meal is complete. Their fear of food could easily prevent them from consuming an extra tablespoon of syrup.

Bleh. :P I'll take your word for it.
I'm a restrictor and there's no way I'd be able to take this concoction. I can hardly get myself to eat foods I love when I'm in a restricting phase.
