Hello all

Greetings, I'm curious as to if anyone here might have a different outlook, theory, or any thoughts of interest on this:

I've been nursing a hatred toward people and a general anger over everything for approximately 14 years. With this it has obviously altered my perceptions of what are right, wrong, sidelong, etc... not many things can be done around me without drawing some level of anger, hatred, malice, or rage forth. Generally people keep telling me it's going to eventually kill me or get me into a situation that will get me killed. I question if these same people have ever truly given into their anger and/or let it dominate their being. It's quite very different from most everything else out there as far as a useful emotion is concerned.

While I hear love is very popular, I also know that it is this which makes people do some very freakish if not openly stupid things. Now I realize there are those that believe they are better for dropping their angers or hatreds and turning to love and that general feeling of happiness that fills people with false hope, but overall is it worth it? Is having happiness via love and care truly worth it versus happiness derived from anger and hatred toward all? Also, generally speaking what exactly are morals(?) for? Well there are probably a few thousand other questions floating around my skull... gues it's better that I save them for some other time.

I look forward to hearing some interesting responses as while anger is not new to people, you'd think some research was done into it to make it well enough known that some people would have come up with some ideas on how to better cultivate both it's pleasant and unpleasant attributes.

Oh yeah, does anyone know why it is hard to get pills without inflicted injuries (so far I've only been able to get pain pills and other medications as long as I've either been willing to pay a high schooler/college student with ailments or I've had my own)? Thus far the best medicine I've noticed for dealing with people is to take a few shots of liquor with whatever strong pain killers you can find, makes dealing with their chitter-chatter a lot easier.

Also as I'm generally bored at work, you guys will have to excuse if I find the time to actually reply to a lot of things... too much free time while at work as I just babysit a computer lab (which while mindnumbingly boring, is quite relaxing).

Also... something wrong with the above post or is it something that is just generally kept away from?

Hi Junky

I suspect (I don't know this for a fact) that the people who have done the most research into how to cultivate the pleasant and unpleasant aspects of anger are the military...

As to contrasting happiness that comes from love and care with happiness that comes from letting your anger have its way - you can take your pick, of course. However, we know that people who are constantly angry are also liable to get ill more often. So perhaps for purely practical reasons (unless you like being ill), happiness that comes from love and care might be more desirable?

Interesting... I honestly never thought about it, but that is fairly accurate about the military. Hmm... guess I might consider that one day after I'm done college, but for now I guess I'll just leave this to contemplation as I've done thus far.

junky,

you can't have love derived form anger/hatred. that's why people who cultivate it are so miserable.

morals are for promoting happiness/well-being.

Ok... there's not much I'm honestly willing to say on this topic (there are just somethings the general population of any group never needs to know). However, anger/hatred has never been the cause of my misery, more the cause has been the product of dealing with people on a face-to-face basis. The anger/hatred has more or less been like a protective sibling. Or at least, that's how it feels.
