I have had a bad experience with a counselling training course. Its a long story, and I will spare you the details, but their attitude to me was awful, arrogant and cold, and I decided early on to leave the course, which was the right decision.
However, now I am gun-shy of counselling courses because of my experience and also still recovering from how unpleasant and traumatic the experience was for me.
Has anyone had a similar experience of psychotherapy/counselling courses that have proved shockingly disappointing e.g. lacking in compassion or integrity, or some other underlying problem? Did you leave the course? Did you do another, better counselling course instead? Or did you decide otherwise?
Thanks.
