An addiction to nodded rubber raincoats and mackintoshes

Due to this compulsion, I have over the years collected many of these garments and although I have tried repeatedly to dispose of them, have not succeeded in doing so and inevitably replaced the disposed of garments with new ones.
I have read in the past articles regarding rubber fetishism and fetishism generally and would like to know if it would be possible to somehow rid myself of this abnormal compulsion or if it looks like I'm going to be afflicted with it for the rest of my life?
The feel, smell and sound of these garments seem to hold an irresistible compulsion for me, possibly at an early childhood age some experience left an impression upon me but I cannot recall such an occasion.
Any help regarding my situation, suggestions, remedies etc would be gratefully received.

Try cognitive behavioral and/or exposure therapy.

In doing so, you slowly replace the rubber fetish with alternate stimuli. To "replace" means looking towards other physical objects to associate with sexuality and the act of sex.

For decades I have frequently asked my wife of 40 years to wear a cloth type raincoat when we are having sexual relations. It has become a regular thing for us.

It started back while she was at university. I had graduated from the same institution and went to visit her. One evening she came out of her bedroom wearing her new raincoat then announced that it was the only clothing she had on.

A few years later she used the restroom as we were leaving a restaurant. She then joined me and said that other than her shoes, stocking and raincoat, she was naked.

On both occasions, later on those evenings we had incredible intercourse. Many times It seems to have become a great addition to our bedroom fun. Fetish? Sure, but we can both live with it.
