Brainwave Generator

Great resource for making brainwave MP3s, which are scientifically proven to have a benefit on the brain and can be tailored for your own needs...

Sorry, I should point out that this is a program and requires a download. It is very effective, though...

I have done some thinking in this area since I encountered a (now defunct) website after searching for something similar.

At best, the only thing this music could do would be to stimulate the brain through your receptive organs by continually playing a mix of unique and similar patterns. This "music" would probably sound horrible to your ears, but the closest melody one can be found is with Classical music. Since, normally, one listens to unique and different songs (rarely repeating, especially on the radio).

This area isn't very well documented. And even with my knowledge, the best projected outcome is a more flexible neurological pathway. The same thing can be achieved with meditation. Both will eventually dim if the "treatment" is not repeated.

However, this assumes it is not in fact a scam. The best advice I can offer to people looking to improve their neuroplasticity...meditate. Listen to classical music on online radios (or the regular radio) regularly. Keep your brain fed with new information.

Just so specify further... the classical music found to be most successful for this is baroque. I.e. Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Telemann, Pachelbel, etc.

Bach's my favourite.

Wouldn't you say that the repetative sound you mention is distinctly similar to the sound you would hear within the womb of your birth mother?

Personally I find repetative droning noises tend to make me feel very relaxed and safe. I know back then my brain was in the state of rapid brain development, not sure about now but I bet it would trigger something off!

I find brainwave tracks quite effective. Especially holo-sync, and guided hypnosis. Everyone keeps saying classical music is great, but I cannot stand it. I do not know why, I try to listen to it but just can't.

Actually, there is a lot of research done into the effectiveness of brainwave entrainment to assist with relaxation, insomnia, depression, and a wide variety of other issues.

It can even be used as a guided meditation - an easy way to get into the meditation habit.

professionally made audios with ambient background tracks sound amazing, and are extremely effective.

I make audios that ramp the listener down to theta (state of suggestibility, dreamlike, light sleep state) then blast them with 20-45 minutes of visualisations, positive affirmations and even hypnosis scripts that affect massive change in people with about 30 days of regular listening.

Hi folks

In a kind way, where are the studies and the scientific proof mentioned in this thread; can you provide links. Posted on the subject a few years ago and at that time the studies where only suggestive, for sure lacking and those that were referenced by web sites selling products did not support the conclusions the web sites made. And no one in this thread has yet mentioned the documented mental health problems this type of "brainwave entrainment" can induce. The latter suggests this listening has some effect but just what that effect is and how much is too much needs to be addressed here. Do you have the links?

Thanks
