Dear Toomuch,
Welcome to the forum, and YES you have a very serious anger problem. But, first, before I get started, you should read a current post by Potatank "My Anger Then and Now", who discusses how the primary cause for his extreme anger proved to be organic, that is, an easily correctable imbalance in his body chemistry. Perhaps the same Cause, or a similar cause for extreme anger pertains to you. Let's try to evaluate the possibility, but we would need to know a bit more about you. Now from your post I can infer, and correct me if I am wrong, that you are female and either you are a junior or a senior in High School (enrolled in Calculus Class which is advanced stuff) or you are very intelligent and had been in some Advanced Placement Program. How Long have you been getting this Angry? Were you this angry as a child, or did this severe anger only immerge after the onset of puberty.... I ask this because I expect that the body chemistry may go through significant changes with the transformation from Child to Adult.
You see, with people who have moderate (but nonetheless troublesome) levels of anger, their irritability usually coincides with habitual ways of thinking and behaving that their Home Life and early experiences in childhood Peer Groups conditioned them to -- that is, they Act and Think that Way because they really don't know any different. To address That Kind of moderate anger, one only needs to point out which Behavioral Habits are Bad and Why they are Bad, and then it becomes simply a matter of establishing New Habits in Thought and Behavior... which may take some Time, but if the person goes about the task sincerely and with a degree of dedication and applied will power, then the Good Results are more or less certain to follow. But, YOUR KIND of anger, where even you yourself are struck by just how trivial and inconsequential are the Small Annoyances that Trigger you into a Raging Fury -- you can't even explain it to yourself. That is why I suspect a biologically based chemical imbalance... it is like you are on a Bad Trip from a Drug that your body is producing all by itself.
But this is all just guess work. Maybe some of the Other Helpers here on the Page might have some Insight.
So, anyway, Toomuch, what do you think about this so far?
Oh... one more thought... which I just thought of... in your School you will Definitely Need a Friend or Somebody who can advocate for you with the School's Administration. So try calling the School's Nurse and discuss the possibility that you suspect a Chemical Imbalance BECAUSE violent behavior is Not Normal for you... you were not angry as a child, and that you yourself are as surprised by your Current Crazy Behavior as anybody else. In this way they will begin to look at you as a Medical Problem instead of as what they already apparently take for granted, that you are a Discipline Problem.
