Fear can never bring you happiness, try to enjoy the challenge and you will feel much better.

Hi Calmy,
Try not to think about failing: you can complete this project ;)
How about you jot down some notes about the project and then make a plan.
Don't waste time and energy procrastinating or getting stressed - spend chunks of time preparing, planning and being productive - take regular breaks when you need them.
All the best :D

Hi! There is nothing to worry about the new project. You have the ability to do the best that's why the new project is assigned to you. Just have faith and confidence in yourself, Do excellent preparation and try to give your best. Surely you will get success.

Be mindful. Live with the present time. Don't worry about what might happen tomorrow. Pay attention to your project right at this moment and work diligently on it. Talk to yourself "I can do this. I can do it well." Don't say "What if I fail." If you worry too much about what you will be like in the next minute, hour, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year... the future, you would be sick and dead. Live healthily each minute right now.

You will be fine and do your project well.

Thanks all for the encouragement.

Right now my heart is pounding. In fact, it's been pounding very fast since yesterday everytime I think about this project. I didn't do any preparation yesterday. I procrastinated and avoid looking into it and did other things like buying stationery that I will need to do the project, and I slept early because I need to be refreshed for the coming days.

Originally, this project was given to my other colleague to do, but she told our manager she was too busy with other work. Now the project is given to me at the very last minute without any preparation what so ever. This isn't the first time it happened. I hate when I'm not copied into in emails or told about any upcoming projects and they expected me to do it. Anyway, my manager told me if I can finish off the project he 'might' consider me given me a permanent position. I'm not interested in this so called permanent position anymore. I just hate to be treated like a bouncing ball or a nobody at work.

Anyway. I'm going to treat this as a learning experience and for self development.

My major fear is I have to deliver this project in front of 50 staff members. I get stage fright. When I am nervous, I speak incoherently or forget what I wanted to say.

Two days left. I need to concentrate now. Im convincing myself not to think about the negatives. I need to be grateful for what I have.

just received a call from one of my collegues saying a lot of my staff were unhappy that I've been assigned by this project. She even explained to me that because I work in the office and not in the field, it's hard to capture the activities the other staff are doing therefore this project would be very difficult for me to succeed. Should not have taken this rostering project in the first place.

I'm going to give it a try.

I came a across a poster on this forum w ho wrote: "happiness is a mindset; you need to turn the negative around. And that we should be grateful for what we have."

Love that statement. Yesterday I strolled around the city and noticed there were two-three homeless people begging for money or looking for scrap of food in a rubbish bin.

I've always been a negative person. But now I am willing to change. I'm going to use every second, minute, hour i have to self delevop myself to become a better person. Because when an opportunity comes, at least I am better prepared for it.

Whenever I find life challenging I count my blessings, it's a very powerful exercise.
