Approaching 30 - am i on track

Postby Bob123 » Thu Mar 12, 2015 12:23 am

Hi

At work I find myself wondering, am I on track, did I make the right career choice, do I have the right skills at this point.

Does anyone have any advice on what skills can set me apart from my colleagues so that I can get ahead?

Also, how do you know that you are on track with your career? I know you shouldn't compare yourselves to others, but sometimes you do and it can lead you down a whole path of thought

Cheers

[Further] I have been doing a lot of personal development recently, the first part of this has been to join my local toastmasters, can anyone recommend anything else that would create a big change like this has?

Depends on the field you are in. What do you do?

As to knowing if you are on track with your career, i think its up to you to decide, if you think you are on track or not. Right now seems that you are uncertain. Comparing yourself with other people your age could give you a better idea where you stand. Although i do not believe that it is the best way to look at things - comparing your progress with progress of others.

I personally can offer you my own consultations, they are rather unique but they are not for free... You can take a look at my site and email me for more details if you are interested. Things like increased emotional intelligence, increased personal and social independence and stability and increased mental skills could be of interest to you.
