Hi Folks! What a brilliant site! I just found out about this a few days ago, much to my delight, 'cause the American ones I've stumbled across are a bit wacky to say the least! I've been suffering from depression for about 16 months and since just before Xmas I seem to have made a fantastic improvement. ( although I still have some really horrible periods, which are as much of an inconvenience as they are...depressing!) One of the reasons I think I feel so 'hopeful' is that there are quite a few options I can choose from to help myself, which incidentally, is what I've finally realised I have to do' as no body else can do it for me. HYPNOSIS being my chosen subject.I had a few months of (very expensive)CBT which I think helped slightly but I really believe my depression was far too severe to really put many of the things into action at the time. I also had a one off session of hypnosis which was one of the nicest, most relaxing experiences I have ever had. Anyone who has suffered from depression will agree that relaxation is one of the most important but also hardest things to be able to do. However I really would like to, with the few pennies I have left from my CBT, have a few sessions of hypnosis, as I'm pretty sure it could help me recover completely and stay recovered as I,m really scared of becoming depressed in the way I was. The problem I have, is I really want to find someone, up here in Glasgow or nearby, that has training in hypnosis and also knowledge or an interest in Human Givens, or at least I want to find someone who really does have a good experience with working with depression. I've wasted too much time and money on trying out therapists who are adapting their skills to 'cover' depression instead of finding someone who actually knows and understands about it. Is this possible?? I would really appreciate any help or information. (The ironic thing is, I moved away from Brighton 2 yrs ago, or else I'd be knocking on your door Mr. RogerE !!!) Keep up the good work and thanks so much for creating this site! Nic xx
