Thanks for all the input. Until very recently I had a very busy schedule. After work I would spend 90 minutes at the gym then pickup the wife off her train from the city, get home about 10PM. After a little snack and some TV we both head up two flights of stairs, past the dinning room and kitchen we don't use, past the dinning room table we don't eat at, past the master bedroom, past the living room to our attic bedroom. On weekends I would go on 6 hour rides with a cycling club (bicycles) Now retired I spend more time home (in my basement) Weekends my wife is so beat we both stay down in the basement and watch TV most of the time. We enjoy each others company a great deal so in that respect we are very lucky. Sometimes I think If purgatory exists I am guessing it might be something like this but that's really over stating it. No it's a very frustrating situation. I am kidding about purgatory of course. Anyone who has even heard of Dante's Divine Comedy knows it is not about suburban life regardless of the rung. No if there is an afterlife my thoughts alone have consigned me to another place when this life is over. I am letting my wife handle this mess since this is her family. My parents are both gone. I think we are going to take this place back one room at a time. We will redecorate her into smaller quarters. This "old bird" had no problem taking over this house... But this is over. Until she departs for my wife's sister's home a mile down the road... or sweet Beulah land her boarders are getting a bit tighter. :-) Anyway I do appreciate the comments. Some of them were most amusing. Some helpful, others made me think.
