How can you help?

You have heard over and over about public speaking,
Be knowledgeable; meaning that you simply have to know your material.
You might ask what I always used to ask in my speech class, how am I supposed to know everything about something I just
happen to believe in and which certainly not everyone believes or cares about?
It used to bother me, trust me. But I had to do it, so I did it.
Now, this is weird, because public speaking is as necessary. Why? Because if we don’t respond to the challenges we face daily, then who will?
Most of us dislike changes, but our consciences impale us to respond to these challenges.
In an articles I recently wrote “Does taking sides Matter in Public Speaking?” I posed the question, “we know that most public speeches are rooted from the Idea of wanting to voice and support one’s beliefs and convictions. You may ask, “But we have laws to protect our rights and have religious
beliefs to guide our actions, why then do we need to consider other people’s convictions?”
This is simple, whether you are responding to an increasing burglary in the neighborhood, or reckless road driving cases or healthcare or insurance, your voice is important in making the society better and yes it is a big deal, because we owe it to the future generations; hand-over a better society at-least.
That said, if you find yourself wanting to give a speech, it is necessary to pick a topic you are interested in. Know more about it than you include in your speech. Use humor, humor reflects your confidence and makes you and your audience connected to your beliefs. Use conversational language, that way you are more connected and not forgetting what to say. Let’s go and better our society, every voice counts. You can help too!
