Learning essays

Postby Christine132456 » Mon Feb 01, 2016 6:12 pm

Hi, I'm doing my GCSEs at the moment. Unfortunately for my German GCSE I have to memorise an essay about 300 words then speak it to the teacher. However I'm soooo bad at memorising stuff and it takes me forever, so I wondered if anyone had any tips on how to memorise an essay?! Thanks.

Try breaking it down into a series of small paragraphs and tackle one at a time. Memorize the first paragraph one sentence at a time. When you get that, add the first sentence from the next paragraph. Just keep adding a sentence once you've got the others down. I've had to do something similar recently for an oath.

Do not purely memorize, try to picture a scenario in your head when reading it. You will remember it much better :)
