What heppens during counselling & CBT

Postby knittingfog » Sat Jan 14, 2012 7:54 pm

I have a session on monday and I would like an idea of what I should expect from someone who practises.
I'm scared of having a panic attack in the session. What kind of questions are they going to ask etc?

(I suffer from depressin and panic attacks)

When you meet your therapist, you can get started by saying you were worried two days before your appointment about what questions s/he was going to ask.

This isn't an exam with a pass or fail ranking; this is someone trained to help you with the problems you have. CBT questions the kind of thoughts you have that make you depressed or anxious. It's designed to give you a much greater measure of control.

And if you're going to have a panic attack, the best possible place to have it is with your therapist. Enjoy!
