Grinberg method?

Postby freespirit1 » Sat Jun 29, 2013 7:22 am

Hi All, has anyone heard of a self help method called Grinberg? I have been looking this up because my sister has recently started with them, and not everything I read makes much sense or seems very positive. I am a bit concerned and wondered if anyone has had any experience with this? Thanks from a concerned older sister :)

The Grindberg therapy (alternative therapy) was developed in the 7tees by Avi Grinberg from Israel.
It's a kind of physiotherapy which is used to solve psychic problems..

As you cannot separate the body from the mind (psychosomatic problems / body thinking and so on) it is a different approach to help people who had traumata or other things in their life which prevent them having a "good" life. They suffer from strange behaviors or they suffer physically from their experiences, which means they develop different kinds of physical diseases which are related to their (unconscious) mental problems.

There are other methods which could be compared with this kind of therapy. For example ZEN budism. Some monks got to a higher level of reality while doing hard work. Or take the work of Stanislav Grof, who was doing experiments with LSD at himself and his patients, after LSD was prohibited he tried to find ways to get the same results by doing a special breathing technic combined with hard work - and it worked. I think it is all about to get a very close view to yourself - concentration - altered states and discipline.

The Grindberg method will not avoid pain in any way, it will help you to deal with it.
As there a many kinds of therapeutic methods known, I would recommend to find out what the real desire (goal) for the person is who is longing for improvement.

Some may better suit to the person some may not really work. I would say - if you can find out why the person wants to do this kind of therapy- if this is the right one. If people seeking for help and they decide I want to try this or that - if this fails they are really not better off.

Try to talk to your sister in a very respectful and loving way to get the answers you want.
Find out whats bothering her - maybe you share same experiences - which can be very helpful. Talk about things which have been maybe unspoken - or banned - if its a family case. If it is like this - you can share different point of views and feelings.

Its difficult to me to give you a precise answer, 'cause I don't know the whole case.

I wish you well.

I am writing this as a psychotherapist and hypnostherapist.
Sorry - english is not my native language - but I hope you got my idea.

Love is the source of all.

Bless you.
