I think it would be great if we could get an email notification if someone's replied to our thread, or to other threads we have posted on :)

I'm not sure if someone has mentioned this before, but I like a lot of the content and articles over at uncommon-knowledge.co.uk, and I think it would be great to have a dedicated forum to discuss the content available there.

Oooh I see, thanks for that Eple :o)

What I wanted to say as well is thanks to the people who run uncommon forum, it has really helped me clarify a lot of the issues that I had/ have. The articles are excellent as well, and I refer to them often for pearls of wisdom :) The forum is the first one I came across when looking for a psychology-related forum, and I haven't seen a better one since I first joined in 2006.
It is such a relief to be able to connect with people who you can relate to, and it's a great format to have. It isn't that easy to meaningfully engage with people about depression, anxiety etc in an everyday conversation.
I used to go to counselling, but after a while that particular way of working didn't suit me anymore, and I find that I can get a lot more learning from other people.
It's a luxury to have this wealth of vital life-saving information at the click of a button, and it's all down to your hard work and dedication.
Thank you uncommon forum!

T. :)

HI again folks

Apologies to anyone to whom I have not replied directly. You can be sure your suggestions are being taken seriously (in fact I'm working them into the development mindmap right now!)

We'll be moving ahead with some cosmetic / navigation changes in the next week, then functionality will follow hard on its heels, so if you'd like to chip in with any more suggestions, now's the time!

Thanks again for your help with this folks,

Roger

I think if we had a Religion& Psychology place to post that would be great, as there seem to be a lot of people wanting to discuss that; and even Philosophy and Psychology as well :)

Suggestion for a minor cosmetic tweak: a less cumbersome quotes, especially in the case of when "quote trees" are concerned, (that is, when multiple quotes are involved). As things stand, quotes tend to eat up a lot of visual space and make posts seem larger or longer than they actually are.

A quick reply box would be great.

Also, as previously mentioned, some more features to give info of who is online, and when people were last online might be good.

One more thing: if there is some feature that could wirelessly operate my kitchen appliances, then that would be dead handy for making myself a bacon sandwich or fajita without having to get up. I have a wifi connection if that's any help.

Thanks

Oh yeah, this is a really good one. Sometimes quote 'trees' can go on for miles. Just quoting the most immediate message would be good.

Maybe an introvert sub-forum. I think that a lot of self esteem and depression and anxiety problems stem from introversion - which is natural and not a disease

but the world is "built" for extroverts.

idk, maybe i'm rambling.

I still think a Family and Children subforum would be very prudent.

@Roger Elliot
Sorry for a forum response, but I could not pm you due to some error or something of the sorts popping up (Not_Enough_Posts_PM). Also the delay in my response is due to other things coming up.
I'm of the same opinion. Can you explain what you mean by 'exceed one rep power'?

Well, with most sites with rep, there is "rep power" which is the integral value you can add or subtract to one's reputation. One of the problems is that when someone exceeds rep power of one, there tend to be these dumb reputation battles that happen. I am a staff member of another site that has a bit of rep battling going on, and not only is it dumb, but people actually think it makes them more important to build up rep circles and exceed 1000 reputation. Without even trying, my reputation is pushing well over 800, but that is because i actually contribute to the site. Anyways, that is a basic summary of what I mean, and a response as to what is up with my pm's would be nice, but not necessary as I do not use it. Thank you for your time to read this and I look forward to posting some more on here, as I forgot about this when dealing with some computer trouble.

Thanks Anarchywolf, I see what you mean now. Having done a little research, there is quite a lot of agreement about the fact that rating schemes can be contentious.

Your PMs are not working as we have a mod that blocks PMs until a member has made 10 posts - to cut down spammers hassling members - it has worked pretty well.
