is career counseling useless?

And networking with my friends... I don't get connections or referrals. I get spam from recruiters redirected and advices "call a couple of recruiters, whatswrongwith you?" Really, what's wrong with me? When I was asked to network, I offered introductions to people that might be helpful.

No counseling is useless, but you must evaluate and use it for it to be beneficial.
