Hi, I have no idea where should write this, so... I am going to write it here... I have subscribed for the free lessons from HypnosisDownloads, in the email I got, it says that I should post my feedback somewhere here...

I really think that there should be alternative hypnosis introduction track in the first lesson, because I did not connect with the one inside... Did not feel anything, laughed a bit at some comments. I only felt that I have wasted 10 minutes. Thought, I made myself think about "why"... Took me a few hours... Here is what I came up with:
I can come up with innumerable negative association to "lying on beach" for every sense. See: beach is a disgusting place... Its crumpled with people... garbage and rubbish here and there... Even if you look up into the sky, sun will blind you and make your eyes hurt... Hear: sound of waves is supposed to be there, but its always the last thing you will hear... People listen music around, talk, even brag sometimes... Far from things that I want to hear. Smell: someone is going to start smoking not far from me... Cant breathe... Taste: food in other countries tastes bad, I dont like it... I am very demanding towards my meal, it has to be cooked in a special way by a professional that is approved by me... Touch: sand is too hot to walk... Rubbish and stones hurt legs... Its very unconfortable to lie on that or on those "special chairs" either(dont know how they are named)... Feel: hot, the sun is burning my skin... And, because the climate is different then in homeland, headache, body pressure, etc... Water is too cold or too hot to swim in... Not to mention, coming back home after "rest".... Whole body in sunburns... That hurts.

Definetly not a peaceful, enjoyable, confortable, relaxing idea. The only reason to go "lying on the beach" is to let your skin get used to the hot climate a bit, so it wont get burned so fast... I really think that there should be alternative audio file.

I've been listening to Igor (Ledochowski) talking. Regarding the relaxing scene, he suggests to check with the subject beforehand, as what is a relaxing scene to one may be quite the opposite for another. And this post just proved his point.

quietvoice, thats my point... The lesson is about "recalling some place", so I think there should be an alternative place. Its very unlikely that one person might consider 2 "common relaxing places" the opposite.
Richard@DecisionSkills, I have tried my best to come up with the "fantasy of a relaxing place" below...

Have you ever tried to rest below a tree? In a place far, far away... A wonderful place, where you can enjoy your time... Close to the nature... You can just lean over a tree and let it make you feel safe... Or you can sit there or even lie down and relax... Only you know about that sacred place that makes you feel wonderful... May be, you have never experienced that yourself... But something comes to mind when you think about it... A peaceful place, where you can be safe... And when you think about nature... You can see a warm colors... Let your eyes relax and enjoy the colors... As you keep imagining... You hear a whisper of leaves... Hear a peaceful song of birds... And the deep breath of nature... You notice, that your own breath is calm and deep... You notice, that as you fill with fresh air, you can relax even more... You can stay at this place as long as you want to.

Hi Alice,

Thanks for sharing. What a wonderful script you have about resting and finding peace under the tree. :)

If you don't have a scenario or a place to recall to put yourself in a relaxing state, just use the ideal or the imagination one.. Like your "fantasy of a relaxing place" you just shared with us.

I think that is pretty awesome. ;)

Yes, relaxation imagery is a two-edged sword if you use it as an induction. Once you've gotten past the induction and the subject is in a reasonably deep trance, it gets easier, especially if you remember to suggest the response you want from the imagery: "You're surprised to find yourself really enjoying your visit to the garbage dump..."

Relaxation imagery is a good way to get started, in spite of the fact that there simply isn't a specific place or activity that everyone finds relaxing. It's simple.
