Has anyone broke up due to depression and come back their ex

Depression caused my boyfriend to break up with me. Has anyone ever been I this situation... on either side? Is there hope we can rekindle what was a great relationshio that went off track because of depression? Has anyone regretted their choice to end a relationship because of this?
