Fertility problems due to eating disorder

Postby charlottemartin » Fri Jul 29, 2011 3:42 pm

Hi everyone. I write for new! magazine, the true life pages, and we are looking to run a very sensitive feature on eating disorders and their affects on fertility. We are looking for an individual who suffered an eating disorder in the past, which has meant they have had trouble having children now. If you think you fit the bill or can help in any other way, do not hesitate to contact me on 0208 612 7907 or email [email protected]. thank you.

Hi,

It may be worthwhile understanding that there would be a natural association between a person with eating disorders and infertility, because both share a fairly unhealthy body that may be responsible for either an eating disorder AND/OR infertility. Please read:

Male infertility refers to the inability of a male to achieve a pregnancy in a fertile female. In humans it accounts for 40-50% of infertility. Male infertility is commonly due to deficiencies in the semen, and semen quality is used as a surrogate measure of male fecundity.

An unhealthy male is also likely to produce unhealthy sperms.

Ah yes, hypoglycemia causes infertility too
You should work in a fertility clinic. All these women and men need to do is stop eating sugar.
Apparently there is only one cause to every medical problem known to man, nutrition.
Your blanket copy and paste responses to everyone seem to discredit your opinion entirely. Had to be said.

The is an ad hominem argument showing that you don't understand the relationship between ill health (mental and physical) and nutrition. Hypoglycemia is only the main nutritional disorders but there are many other silent diseases responsible for mood disorders. Just research it.

And yes, many problems of infertility are caused by simple nutritional disorders, such as hypoglycemia. Again the evidence is available everywhere, and just investigate it. Conventional doctors, psychiatrists and psychologists make a lot of money out of nutritional disorders and disease they cannot cure, including mental illness. It's people like you that keep these professionals in business.
