Hi Julie and a big wellcome to the forum :D

As far as tips go for Friday all you can really do is practice 'relaxing with uncertainty'. Just waiting to see how something pans out, rather than mis-using the imagination and 'having to know' what something will be like before you actually experience it is a great and valuable skill to develop.

Think about other times in your life when you've successfully relaxed with not knowing how something was going to be in advance. The feeling is: 'I don't know how this is going to go but, whatever happens, I'll deal with it!' This is really what confidence is about. It's ofcourse natural for you to feel a little nervous but to take the edge off it practice relaxing (to a tape, music, breathing deeply etc. whilst imagining visiting the therapist on Friday. This will effectively forge an association in your mind between pysiological calm and Friday's visit.

Also visit our sites at: http://www.panic-attacks.co.uk/ and http://www.uncommon-knowledge.co.uk/ for more help.

Hope this is useful to you.

Hi Julie

You might also want to have a look at Mark's self esteem tips, and the rest of the self confidence site.

A good NLP practitioner should be able to help you out quickly, particularly with social anxiety, and once that becomes easier, other things will improve too.

Let us know how you get on
