SO SICK OF THIS

Postby stella_blues » Fri Jul 15, 2011 4:47 am

Literally. I feel sick. I just ate sugar free/fat free pistachio pudding, one of my more favorite comfort foods, and I'm determined NOT to throw it up. :x If I manage to keep it down, this will be the first time in WEEKS I didn't purge after eating.

But it's sitting in a thick puddle right at the base of my throat, just making me feel so ill. My stomach is in a tight ball- I CANNOT relax it. It's like I'm doing one long drawn out constant ab crunch. It's starting to hurt.

I actually feel dizzy from this nausea. It's all I can do to sit here and keep it down. Anxiety is creeping up on me.

Which is why I'm posting this. I need to do SOMETHING right now. When I don't purge or self harm, the intrusive thoughts and compulsions just build and build and build until I'm crazy with anxiety and suicidal.

Just sit here. Just sit here. This will pass. Breathe. I'll be alright.
Sit.
Sit.
Sit.
Breathe.
Just stay here.

I will give you a virtual hug.

I have no experience of eating disorders. Maybe you could tell me the kind of thinking that leads to it... but only if it will feel helpful to you.

Hate to use the blanket biochemical reply as you are very emotional, but have you ever had zinc/copper levels/balance checked? Its quite cheap to do, I just think its worth ruling out as its a key factor in eating disorders. See:

Hey, often times sugar-free a and/or fat-free foods are actually worse for people that if the food had the natural amounts of sugar and fat. Consider that that might have an effect. Fat is actually good for people, because we need the cholesterol. Artificial sugars are really bad for people. So maybe your stomach got upset because of that kind of thing, you might have had food poisoning? I know what that's like I had that a few months ago. Food poisoning can also occur more easily if a person has an imbalance of gut bacteria, aka disbyosis (sp). If you're concerned about not eating sugar and fat because of weight gain, well have a quick read of this article:

Maybe it would be good to see a doctor about these issues. Naturopathic doctors are a good way to go in the U.S.
Good luck.

Those synthetic sugar substitutes actually make my mind go blank..I space out similar to what coffee does to me (not the caffeine some other chemical in it-I forgot).

To the person that posted about zinc I have no idea how or what but I know when I take my zinc vit d capsules I feel much better even if I was super stressed or over ate. I use them if I was around someone that was or may have been sick so I don't get sick.

Maybe you are zinc deficient then. Have you any other health issues, or any other medicine you are taking? There is a well known link between zinc and eating disorders, but it is likely only the cause in some cases not all. Can you handle food better when you take zinc, how much were you taking. And do you match any other symptoms of zinc deifciency, i.e.

mild anemia
glossitis
angular stomatitis
diverse forms of skin lesions, including eczema, psoriasis, acne
night blindness (poor night vision), associated with an inability to mobilize retinol from the liver, may also be caused by zinc deficiency
photophobia (sensitivity to light)
hang nails
inflammation of nail cuticles
white spots on fingernails, transverse lines and poor nail growth
sleep and behavioral disturbances
psychiatric illness
all types of inflammatory bowel disease
impaired glucose tolerance
dandruff
arthritis
alcoholism
loss of appetite
growth retardation
diarrhoea
tremor
hair loss
dry skin rash
increased allergic sensitivity
disturbance of menstrual periods, pre-menstrual syndrome
delayed wound healing
loss of taste or smell sensation
dyslexia
depression
sleep disturbance
hyperactivity
reduced fertility
loss of sex drive
pre-eclampsia (toxaemia) of pregnancy and post-natal depression
