clinical guidelines?

Hi all,
I thought some of you might find this interesting....
NICE (National Inst.Clinical Excellence) !st consultation of the clinical guideline for the management of Panic Disorder and Generalised Anxiety Disorder. The paper details 3 main treatments - psychological therapy, medication and self help, focusing mostly on CBT. You can access a copy at www.nice.org.uk - main page 'anxiety' (generalised) clinical guideline - first consultation
The full guidance is 236 pages and details the evidence used. I've just glanced through the 22 page summary - it seems there's little evidence to suggest they've looked at other therapies - seems a shame there isn't a more balanced perspective on what else is available. :(

NICE is a government body whose pronouncements will determine which therapies get funded in primary health care
