Hard to really say. For me it just seems that I have to really just be drawn to someone for me to love them. This has only ever happened 3 times in my nearly 22 years of existing. Most of the time I don't know why I'm drawn to the people I'm drawn to.

To me love is a choice regardless of the individuals involved. Not all mothers love their children and not all children love their parents. Not everyone loves themselves. I do believe you can love another and not love yourself.

Topic at hand to me love is devotion, respect, care, interest, helpful, accepting.
I do believe love can exist without trust I have experienced it it hurts far more but it is possible. Love is much simpler than most people believe (mainly in western cultures). It is when it becomes a or attached to stronger/deeper emotions that it gets complicated.

"Love" is when the ego hypnotises itself to believe someone else has something it lacks

Love is accepting ourselves just as we are and seeing that we have no lack

True that love is beyond words, but don't you think it's good to try to define it, to learn to love & embrace love better?
