I am 18 weeks pregnant and having panic attacks. Finding very hard to cope with it. Anybody knows if they will stop after the baby's born.

I have been having panic attacks for over 10 monthes now and am almost 7 monthes pregnant. My anxiety has had its ups and downs through out my pregnancy. I have noticed though that the farther along I get the better it gets. I have also learned diffrent ways to cope with it.

 There is a condition known as Depression of pregnancy. Do you feel depressed or is it only panic attacks? Being pregnant can affect your brain chemistry and can be a stressful and worrying time. Do not worry that having panic attacks will in any way harm your baby as it won't. It is possble that it will continue after the birth of your baby, but you could then seek help from a mental health team in your area, and watch out for post partum depression too. There are organisations that can help with these issues and you don't need to suffer on your own. Talk to your GP or doctor.

I have also had a mild form of depression as well as the panic attacks while pregnant I see a therapist once a week to help myself to deal with it. I started having the panic attacks a couple of monthes before I got pregnant. Then around my fourth month of pregnancy I was diagnosed with depression. I have continued to take my medication as it won't hurt the baby and it has really helped me alot so between that and the therapist it helps.
