Self doubt, low self esteem, general anxiety & love

Postby mintyfinch » Mon Feb 19, 2018 11:54 pm

I just recently signed up to this forum, so, hi :D

Soooooo, I've been dealing with anxiety for as long as I can remember. It's usually brought on by new situations or whatever. I've also been dating this girl for like 3 months now and she's like my best friend and I'm totally in love. It's just I feel way less interesting than her or like anyone I'm friends with and it kinda sucks. I struggle with self doubt and low self esteem constantly and especially in relationships. I don't know what to do anymore.

Fake it, buddy. Convince yourself you're good enough for her, remind yourself daily that she likes you, and forge ahead.

If you keep telling yourself you're not good enough it'll show in everything you say and do -- and she'll start to believe you.

Hi Minty

Yes I feel like I am not good enough. People tell me to stop putting myself down. I cant help it. Its like my brain starts putting words in such as" i have a boyfriend now but i am going to lose him." or " i am not good enough" etc.

And guess what? I have just been dumped ( see my post) due to my anxiety. So i am going to stay single.

That's no solution, essexgirl. Why not change your thinking instead? Here's how:

Make a list of everything you think is wrong with you.

On a separate sheet of paper, write the opposite of everything on your list. These are your affirmations.

Throw away the first list and keep the second. Read it over and over.

Look for evidence of what you're reading about yourself. Look at it every day. Repeat, repeat, repeat.
